My earliest memory???
Unfortunately or fortunately perhaps, I am one of those who have
‘gold fish’ memories. The one, when asked about her ‘childhood memories’ or any
sort of earliest memory, would just stand still in dismay.
Damn! I have no clue about my earliest memory. This sucks!
I remember being assigned in class to write essays on such
topics and I always ended up making stories, which never existed. From being
lost in a crowded place to finding treasures, I had indeed become a great
inventor. Of course, there was no counter checking so I easily managed to get
away with them. But not always!
There was this one time in Grade 1 with one annoying teacher
with one boring subject, where I had written an essay about how I felt when my
little sister was born. People who know me, are clearly aware that I am the
youngest sibling. Since my story was exaggerated and contained many‘aww’ factors
for a 6-year old, my teacher mentioned it to my mother when she met her at the
annual function. You all can imagine how that would have gone.
It was just today in class, when my friend asked me whether
I am done with this week’s blog and I replied with a picture I drew on my book.
It was a meme that said “Le Me, Le Ghajini!” Yes, that was my initial plan for
this blog, the look on her face was priceless and she said with astonishment,
“Why Ghajini?” So, I figured if she couldn't get the connection with the lame
Amir Khan movie, then probably no one would.
And so here I am, after spending hours on Facebook, watching
a whole episode of Castle and treating myself McDonalds, trying to figure out
what exactly to write….
P.S- The above Grade 1 story isn’t the exact version either,
owing to my oh-so-awesome-memory.
Hey, i'm mentioned! I love this blog post! Best post ever!
ReplyDeleteYou and that ghajni meme. Best combination ever!
