My Earliest Childhood Memory

My earliest memory was when I was of 3 years old, and was lost in Hill park. I remember most vividly that I insists my uncle to take me to the swings along with his sons and his elder son who was himself of 4 years old hold my hand and took me with him and somewhere unintentionally he lost my hand.

For some time I was roaming in the garden enjoying the colorful balloons and after coming across many un familiar faces I start crying and repeatedly calling my “ammi” as it was the word I can speak properly at that time.

Than a man came to me give me a balloon and took me in his arms and asked a dozen of people about my identity, after his all efforts he failed to find my “ammi” and relatives.

When we were about to left the hill park a loud voice came from our back “meri beti” we turned around and my mother was running towards us and she took me with his arms, I remembered clearly that I was continuously laughing and my mother was continuously crying.

She thanked man for taking care of me for almost 3 hours .that time was definitely told by my mother.

My mom couldn’t believe I remembered that incident. Later, my mother told me that the man taking care of me was the sweeper of park and I am too fortunate that he was an innocent man and returned me to my family.

I also remember that after this incident me and even my brothers were not allowed to go with anyone except my mother herself as my father was out of country
