Experience of Two Years in University

University life is full of different experiences by which we can get more knowledge about life.  It seems strange to me that Karachi University appears like such an isolated and uncharted territory to those who have never studied there; it is as if people from ku are aliens. Hence, I thought that I would shed some light on two years experience in my mini universe for those who have never been here and who have no idea what they missed out on by choosing other universities over ku.

My first day in the department of mass communication was really unforgettable it was as like as my first day at school mysterious atmosphere and unfamiliar faces irritating me it was a starting experience for me in university life. But when the time walk off various elements of experiences comes in front of me and it’s only happen in Karachi University you can’t experience in other universities.

Eating at canteen and sitting on the floor cheering for your department’s cricket team at the top of your lungs KU is the place to be if you thrive in adopting the street culture of this city. Prem Gali fondly referred to as PG in KU’s own little food street, famous for its small potato samosas and other culinary delights. We have Sufi’s canteen which offers scrumptious, local Pakistani food. Food, interestingly enough, is not the only specialty offered at Sufi’s. True to its name, it provides the perfect setting for all our spiritual reflections and gives one the platform to connect with nature which this restaurant operates.

KU is infamous for the political activities which take place on campus. From clashes to rallies, the student wings of different political parties can raise havoc in the university. This has a positive side as well it represents the true spirit of Karachi. If you are not aware of the political dynamics which surround this city and how to man composition these divides carefully, then you cannot be a true Karachi. KU recognizes that and helps the youth come out of the bubble and face the reality of their city. Being a pampered middle-class person myself, I only came to understand the real politics around me after I got admission in KU.

Now this is my last year in Karachi university but I can’t forget my this precious time because my experiences are with me at every step of my life whatever the situation is always enjoy the university life and work as hard as you can. Pakistan needs bright minds.
