MY FIRST EVER KLF
I heard about KLF last year, unfortunately,
I wasn’t able to go. So this year around I was waiting for it impatiently.
Lucky for me, our teacher assigned us a paper regarding KLF’14. It meant that
it was imperative to go there, no excuses. Yay for me!
However, I couldn’t get the full-fledged
experience that I hoped for. Boohoo for me!
I went on the third day of the festival, an
early Sunday morning, at the Beach Luxury Hotel. The traffic was clear and my khalu drove fast enough to drop me off
10 am, on the dot.
I attended three back-to-back sessions.
‘Karachi: From Stone age to Cyber age’, ‘Breaking the Gender Walls’ and ‘Drama
and the Small Screen’. Out of which the
third one was my favourite.
While my mother, khala, khalu, mamoo and cousin enjoyed a halwa puri breakfast, I on an empty stomach ended up having an Rs
200 coffee and a bite out my friend’s cookie. Also, I had to leave right after
the third session because everyone was whining about getting home.
I couldn’t get to the books or even have a
good look at the sea and I had to leave.
Not exactly the KLF experience I wanted,
but then again, something better than nothing. Better luck next time, I guess.
